MetaComputing is excited to introduce our new Arm-v9 Architecture AI PC, powered by the CIX CP8180 SoC and fully compatible with the Framework Laptop 13. This modular mainboard brings high-performance Arm computing, strong integrated graphics, and advanced on-device AI capabilities to a repairable and upgradeable laptop platform.

The device follows the Framework Laptop 13’s modular design philosophy. Users can freely upgrade or replace key components—including swapping in different modular mainboards—while expanding capabilities through four fully-functional USB-C ports.
This design extends the device’s usable life by 5+ years, reduces electronic waste, and lowers long-term ownership costs. Storage is also easily upgradeable via standard M.2 NVMe SSDs.

The boot-up video provides a quick look at the system’s startup process on the CP8180 Arm mainboard.
In this demo running Debian 12, we display kernel information, CPU details, and overall hardware recognition.
At the end of the video, we successfully run the DeepSeek-R1-7B model. Even running solely on CPU compute, the performance is surprisingly strong.
The CP8180 includes advanced capabilities such as Memory Tagging Extension (MTE) for security. Many additional features will be showcased as we release more technical updates and developer documentation.
