With Ubuntu 26.04 support, users can now enjoy an even more streamlined desktop and AI development environment powered by one of the most important Linux distributions in the world.
Ubuntu’s latest concept image for CIX P1 platforms has already been validated on the MetaComputing AI PC.

The Ubuntu 26.04 concept image for CIX P1 is based on Canonical’s newest long-term support release, Ubuntu 26.04 LTS “Resolute Raccoon”. For additional details and image downloads, please refer to Canonical’s reference blog.
This release introduces major improvements across AI enablement, modern Arm platform support, system resilience, and developer tooling. Canonical also continues its upstream-first philosophy by relying on open-source drivers and Linux kernel development aligned with the broader open-source ecosystem.

The Ubuntu image currently ships with a Linux 7.0 kernel based on the open-source CIX kernel tree, while long-term efforts continue toward full upstream integration.
